“God’s love is meteoric, his loyalty astronomic, His purpose titanic, His verdicts oceanic. Yet in his largeness nothing gets lost; Not a man, not a mouse, slips through the cracks.” Psalm 36: 5-6
Perspective:
Have you ever gone to the beach and just looked at the ocean? It stretches across the horizon as far as the eye can see. It is amazing. When you see it, you are reminded that life is so much larger than you. It also reminds you of God and that He is greater than the ocean. He is not measurable by what we see. We see a few miles of unchartered water and are in awe. God is holding the whole world.
The beauty in Psalm 36 is that in God’s largeness nothing gets lost. In His greatness, He still sees your heart. God sees you. God wants to know you. Although He is greater than our minds can comprehend, He wants to step into your world. He is not willing that you would slip through the cracks of life. Maybe you feel like everyone has forgotten you and no one sees you, that you are overlooked at work, your family disregards you, or your friends never call. Don’t lose heart, because God sees you. Although He is greater than all the oceans of the world combined, He is not willing to lose you. He would give the whole world to get you back. He did. He gave Jesus. He didn’t want you to live lost. Embrace the largeness of God. In His greatness, you are everything but lost.
