Scripture:

“Joshua did what Moses ordered in order to fight Amalek. And Moses, Aaron, and Hur went to the top of the hill. It turned out that whenever Moses raised his hands, Israel was winning, but whenever he lowered his hands, Amalek was winning. But Moses’ hands got tired. So they got a stone and set it under him. He sat on it and Aaron and Hur held up his hands, one on each side. So his hands remained steady until the sun went down. Joshua defeated Amalek and its army in battle.” Exodus 17:10-13

Perspective:

Have you ever been playing or watching a football or soccer game and it gets down to the wire?  Someone has to make the winning  touchdown or goal.  The all-star player that everyone is counting on for the win suddenly passes the ball to someone else.  The crowd gasps.  The rookie now has the ball; everyone thinks the game is over.  Then, something unexpected happens.  The rookie scores.  The all-star player believed in the rookie enough to give them a chance; he was making someone’s dream come true.

Who in your life needs support to win?  God might be sending you to be the lifter of someone’s hands.  When the Israelites were in battle, Moses could only do so much by himself.  He needed people surrounding him to help when he became tired and weary.  Who is someone in your life who you could come alongside?  In a culture that is so self-focused, God is looking for an Aaron or Hur who will hold up the hands of leadership surrounding them.  God’s dream for our lives is not just about us.  He might want to use you to help someone’s dream become a reality.  Wherever you are at today, look around for someone whom you can uplift.  Although your role might seem insignificant, God will use it to bring victory into their situation and your life as well.
