Scripture:
“God spoke: “Swarm, Ocean, with fish and all sea life! Birds, fly through the sky over Earth!” God created the huge whales, all the swarm of life in the waters, and every kind and species of flying birds. God saw that it was good.” Genesis 1:20-21
Perspective:
When you watch a painter paint, they start with a blank canvas and a palette of colors. As they began mixing the colors and painting a design, something beautiful takes shape on the canvas. Their blank canvas is slowly turning into a masterpiece.
When God created the world, it was a blank canvas. He started by creating the light and darkness, sky and water, then birds and animals. Whenever you go to the beach and see the expanse of the ocean, it is a reminder that there is a Creator. God spoke the jellyfish, whales, sharks, and clams into existence. It is hard to imagine that they did not exist, God said exist, and then they filled the ocean. Also, if you are a bird-watcher, you are aware of the vast varieties of birds. God is the Creator. He made something out of nothing and said it was good. In comparison, it can be a challenge for us to be creative. There are so many people who are talented artists, photographers, writers, and musicians. Our creative contribution in life, ministry, family, or business can easily be compared to other experts. However, I have found, the more I am connected to the Creator, the more creative that I am. Being made in the image of God, we have the capability to be creative. God wants to use you and your creativity to point back to His creative work in the world. Next time you are lacking creativity, take time to connect with the Creator.
