Scripture:
“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven.” Ecclesiastes 3:1 (NIV)
Perspective:
Do you quickly notice when the seasons start to change? As summer turns to fall, the leaves start to change color, and the air becomes cooler. Then, winter is decorated in brilliant white, as all the birds have flown south for the winter. When winter turns to spring, the whole world begins to dethaw, and everything is new. When spring turns into summer, the days become longer and the sun ripens everything. Every season has distinct characteristics. Every season is different.
In life, there is a season for everything. God takes us on a journey through different stages of life. These stages are seasons, where we grow, change, and become the person we have been created to be. However, no season lasts forever. Things change, and God takes us to new places. The only challenge is that change is hard. The position titles of our past have claimed our identity. To let go, we have to redefine who we are and our purpose in life. Ephesians 1:20 says, “It’s in Christ that we find out who we are and what we are living for.” No matter what season of life you are in, find your identity in Christ and embrace change that comes with each season of life.
