Scripture:
“When you call on me, when you come and pray to me, I’ll listen. When you come looking for me, you’ll find me. Yes, when you get serious about finding me and want it more than anything else, I’ll make sure you won’t be disappointed. God’s Decree.” Jeremiah 29:12-13
Perspective:
Have you ever lost something? It is a sickening feeling, and desperation fills your heart to find it. Life seems to hit the pause button, and all your energy is put into finding that one thing. Sometimes it’s not even that important, but the fact that it is lost drives us crazy. We have to find it! We gather people to help us find it, and when we do, there is a sweet sigh of relief.
In the same way, God says that we’ll find Him when we get serious about it. The problem is, though, that we have a hard time getting serious about it. We want to be around God and people who love God. But, when God asks us to give up something so we can know Him, we hesitate. God will show up in our lives when we get serious about seeking Him. So, the question is in our ball park. How serious are you about finding God? You won’t be disappointed!
