Scripture:

“He has never let you down, never looked the other way when you were being kicked around. He has never wandered off to do his own thing; he has been right there, listening.” Psalm 22:23-24

Perspective:

Have you ever tried to talk to someone and they won’t stop talking?  The only option is to start talking while they are talking with hopes that they will listen.  Then, two people start talking at each other and no one is listening to the other person.  The message is not being communicated.  We feel validated when people listen to us.  When someone listens, we equate it  with them caring about us.

When we talk to God, it’s not a one way conversation nor is it two people talking at the same time.  It is a conversation where you talk and God listens.  Then, God talks and you listen.  God has not left you.  He is listening to the cries of your heart.  He cares about the affliction you are facing.  Even when every other person has walked out on you, God stands ready to listen.  It’s difficult to comprehend that the God of the universe wants to listen to you. Yet, He does.  Usually, He is just waiting on us to pick up the conversation.  He started the conversation over 2,000 years ago with a rugged cross and His only son, Jesus.  Whatever you are facing, call out to God.  He is already listening.

Great insight here Hona. Over the past few weeks I’ve been drawn to a passage in Jeremiah that goes great with what you are a saying.

    Jer 29:11-14
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I WILL LISTEN TO YOU. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you,” declares the LORD… (emphasis added)

The promise that God is listening is a wonderful thing. Thanks for sharing!
