“It is what you read when you don’t have to that determines

what you will be when you can’t help it.
― Oscar Wilde

During 2012, I read some great books. I absolutely love to read. Last year, I had the opportunity to publish my first book, Smart Work U.  I still believe that books have power to change lives, and that is why I am so excited to see how God continues to use it to help high school students, college students, and parents. When I read, I feel inspired.  If you are looking to find a few books for 2013, I encourage you to use this list as a starter.  Here are the books I read in 2012:

The Charge by Brendon Burchard

Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World that Can’t Stop Talking by Susan Caine

Love Does by Bob Goff

A Life Unleashed by Christine Caine

Becoming a Better You by Joel Osteen

Reality Check by Grant Baldwin

Radical: Taking back your Faith from the American Dream by David Platt

Primal: A Quest for the Lost Soul of Christianity by Mark Batterson

Smart Women Finish Rich by David Bach

Inside My Heart: Choosing to Live with Passion and Purpose by Robin McGraw

The Generosity Factor TM by Ken Blanchard and S. Truett Cathy

Worth Every Penny: Build a Business That Thrills Your Customers and Still Charge What You’re Worth by Erin Verbeck and Sarah Petty

Making Life Work by Bill Hybels

The Circle Maker by Mark Batterson

Midas Touch  by Donald Trump and Robert Kiyosaki

If you are only going to read one book this year, I would encourage you to read The Circle Maker by Mark Batterson. It will infuse fresh faith and anticipation into your heart and life. If you are an introvert or know one, the book, Quiet, by Susan Caine will give you insight and understanding into yourself or people in your life. Finally, I thoroughly enjoyed reading Love Does by Bob Goff. I have shared that book with several people this year!
